Great Songs for Inspiration

I recently helped with the hosting of a course entitled “Discovering Christ,” which is part of a series produced by ChristLife ministry in Maryland. I highly recommend this series for Catholic parishes. The content is exceptionally well done and was well-received by people from my parish. St. Bernard Church in Tulsa. Because of the pandemic, we had to make some alterations to the format of the course and offer it online, but it was still very effective.

We were encouraged to play a song or two before each of the presentations in Discovering Christ. I spent long hours listening to various Youtube videos featuring religious music. The songs I ended up using received a very positive response from many of the participants. So I thought I would share them with you. Most of the artists for the songs I selected are Catholic. There is some great young Catholic talent out there that many Catholics don’t know about.

So give a listen to these songs. With only a few exceptions, they are not traditional hymns. If you are open to a more contemporary style, you will find them inspiring and beautiful. Watch the YouTube videos below to listen. You may have to put up with some ads.
