My husband and I are headed in a direction we would not have chosen to go. HOWEVER we feel led to relocate away from our friends. It is a God incident

Comment on 070 Bible Tips, Tricks, Traps part 2

Jenni,
The Job story was not a podcast, but a blog post that can be found when you go to the March 2008 archives and scroll down to "Now I Digress." The action is in the comments section. Thanks for a great comment!

Comment on 070 Bible Tips, Tricks, Traps part 2

We're currently hosting a class in our home which deals in large part with keys to understanding the Bible and how the Bible interprets itself. I've thought about you so many times during the sessions, Cyndi! I know there are things with which you would not agree, but I think you would enjoy much of it.

We have quite the collection of study materials. Dh uses them a lot, but I find it easiest and quickest to look things up using blueletterbible.org. That may not always provide the depth you want, but it's a great tool.

I would be very interested to hear more about this Jewish perspective on Job. I must have missed that and I can't find it using the search tool. Do you know about when this podcast and comment was?

Comment on 070 Bible Tips, Tricks, Traps part 2

Hi again. I've got a computer bible that lets me look up words in the bible any way I want, and has the KJV, NAS, NIV, and ASB versions. It also has several commentaries, and I've had it for perhaps 10 years. I use it all the time, particularly Strong's and B-D-B and Thayer's to check in on the original meanings. It's been very helpful.

Somebody actually bounced me on my blog the other day about linking to a Catholic blogsite, claiming I was endorsing it. I laughed about that, as though folks who differ with us on some point are infected with something we're liable to catch if we read their writings. I thought that funny.

Comment on 069 Inexplicable Joy

Enjoyed this one. I just read a quote from St. John Vianney today that fits nicely onto the end of this talk. He said, "The Saints were so completely dead to themselves that they cared very little whether others agreed with them or not."

Comment on 069 Inexplicable Joy

Thank you for this pod-cast.
